backup & sync google drive data - for staff only

You can backup and sync all of your Google Drive data to your Mac or Windows-based computer.

The backup will also include any data that you and your students uploaded from Google Classroom.

It is recommended that you back-up your data from Google Classroom frequently.

For Mac Users:

Click here to download Backup and Sync on your computer

  1. On your computer, locate and click on Download Backup and Sync.

  2. Read the Terms of Service and click Agree and download.

  3. After it’s downloaded, open InstallBackupAndSync.dmg.

  4. Move Backup and Sync to your Applications folder.

  5. Open Backup and Sync.

    • If you see a warning that "Backup and Sync is an application downloaded from the Internet," click Open.

  1. Sign in with your AV G Suite username and password.

  2. Choose your sync settings and click Next.

  3. Follow the instructions until it is completed.

  4. When you reach to step 2 on the sync setting page you can decide whether or not you want to back up your class data from your laptop to GDrive.

    1. If not, then just "uncheck" all the folders and click next.

  1. Go to step 3, this is where you will set up the data backup from your GDrive to your computer.

  5. If you’re asked to restart your computer, do it now.

  6. Start Backup and Sync.

Archive Class & Grade Book - for staff only

Google Classroom-Archive Class

If you don't want students to no longer have access to your classes you can archive the class. Even if you want to completely delete a class, you still need to archive it first. You can always retrieve your class at a later time except when you completely delete it.
